Taj Hotels Boost Customer Confidence Making Driving Holidays a Success, says Dinesh Khanna, MD, Taj Bekal

Driving Holidays have caught on, say insiders in the industry. Said one hotel owner in the hills, these last two months we will make good money. Cities around Delhi were claiming good occupancies; revenge vacations predicted by many, were already taking place. Leisure destinations were showing more arrivals by road, than by air. The same story holds good for a resort like the Taj Luxury in Bekal, North Kerala.

Speaking with DI, the resort’s owning company MD, Dinesh Khanna said they were witnessing a more than encouraging response to the Taj Group’s promotions on driving holidays.

“Added to these promotions is the Taj’s Promise to providing a safe and clean environment. It helps when a brand like the Taj is saying we will ensure your Safety”, he said. This last weekend, the hotel’s parking lot was full with cars with Karnataka number plates.

Just 90 minutes by road from Mangalore airport is this luxury Taj Bekal, a resort that has the famed backwaters on one side and the sea on the other. It is possibly the most modern luxury in Kerala, providing an opportunity to explore the northern part of the state, in particular.

The resort has 75 Rooms including 29 private plunge Pool Villas, a host of amenities that go along with the brand, but the latest are the addition of 09 rooms including the 8000 sq. ft. four bedroom Presidential Suite, ideal for large families and also for special celebrations. Also, the signature Jiva Spa with authentic Ayurveda therapy makes the hotel an ideal discovery pad for all things Kerala has become famous for. Recent additions have ensured a further stamp of luxury on this property. Though the promise of a tourism zone such as Bekal is yet to fructify, yet singularly hotels in the area are proving a hit.

At the Taj Bekal, you will find curated experiences to suit every fancy: for those seeking romance and tranquility, there is romantic dinner by the river, floating breakfast and moonlight rafting; for adventure lovers, there is the option of Bird Walk, Nature Walk, Sunset Cruise, Archery, Kayaking and Rafting, among others; for kids, the resort provides an Activity Centre with a host of indoor activities, variety of treasure hunts, sand castle making competitions and more. Food lovers can enjoy the quintessential Kerala Sadya on Banana leaf or devour seafood/coastal cuisine at their specialty restaurant, By the Bay.
In addition, the resort has proved to be a successful MICE destination, enabling work with leisure.
