Naresh Goyal bids adieu, promises patrons of continued excellence in guest experience

Naresh Goyal penned an emotional letter to JetPrivilege members, recounting the long albeit illustrious journey of the carrier, currently facing significant headwinds. He said that the carrier had “been a way of life” and that he was fortunate and blessed to have lived his dreams.

He profusely thanked all members of the airline’s loyalty program for their continued patronage, noting that what the carrier had achieved in the past two and a half decades had “in no measure, far exceeded he had ever dared to imagine.”

He wrote that he had come to the realisation that the “torch must be passed on”. “There is no better time than the present. I would like to humbly and with immense gratitude, inform you that both Mrs Goyal and I are stepping down from the Board of Directors of Jet Airways with immediate effect,” he wrote.

“Our shareholders have approved the Bank-led Resolution Plan (BLRP), which marks a definitive step in our efforts to guide Jet Airways onto a sounder and sustainable financial footing. There is light at the end of the tunnel and that is why I feel; the time is now right for us to hand over the reins of your preferred airline to a new generation of leaders that I am certain will take Jet Airways to even greater heights,” he penned.

He said he “would be lying,” if he said this was not an emotional moment for him. “I remain committed to seeing Jet Airways embark on a dynamic new chapter and I am certain, that the new generation of leaders will be able to count on your continued support in the months and years ahead,” he asserted.

He insisted that delivering a “superior guest experience” by his teams was a key differentiator for the airline. On behalf of his team, he assured JetPrivilege members of the same “world-class service” that they had come to associate with the carrier.
