George Ettiyil is the new Senior Director Sales South Asia, effective February 2019. Based in New Delhi, he will oversee all commercial activities for Lufthansa Group Airlines business in India, Nepal, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. Lufthansa enjoys a key position among European airlines operating in India, with Swiss Air and Austrian in its fold.
Born and schooled in Germany, George completed his college education in India and has spent over two decades at Lufthansa Group, half in India and Germany. He is fluent in German, English and Malayalam.
From a Management Trainee in India, having worked over 13 years across Lufthansa offices in Delhi, Mumbai, Pune and Chennai in cross-functional managerial roles, he moved to Frankfurt in 2009 and held key management positions in account management, controlling and sales within the Lufthansa Group there. Prior to his assignment as Senior Director Sales South Asia, he was Head of Global Sales Product & Programs for the Hub Airlines at the Lufthansa headquarters in Frankfurt.
