Festival bonanza from Goa tourism between March-May

Goa Tourism has announced its mega plans to organize three back-to-back festivals commencing on March 7 to attract more tourists. The annual Shigmotsav which took off on 7th March will end on 20th of this month. The Goa Food and Cultural Festival 2015 has been scheduled from 17th to April 21st and the first edition of Goa Coconut and Cashew Festival 2015 will be held between 29th April to 3rdMay.

Festival bonanza from Goa tourism between March-MayAccording to a Goa Tourism release, Goa Shigmo 2015 will unfold the state’s culture and folklore amid colour, music, dance, costume and elaborate tableaux depicting Hindu mythology and religious fervor. The float parades will be held from 7th to 20th March and enthrall tourists who throng the state to witness this spring’s spectacular event. Meanwhile, the Goa Food and Cultural Festival which is generally held during Carnaval, has been re-scheduled this year and now it will be held from April 17 to 21st. The five day sizzling event will be held at the D B Bandodkar Ground at Campal presenting Goa’s authentic cuisine along with presentation of Goa’s folklore and a volley of cultural shows by local Goan artists. The last festival of the two month long prorgramme – Goa Coconut and Cashew Festival- will be making its debut this year (April 29 to May 3rd) and will primarily showcase the key characteristics of Goa’s agro based products which forms an important part in the lives of the local Goans. From food to handicrafts, games, beverages, desserts and cultural programmes, the entire event will evolve around Coconuts and Cashews.
