ATTA’s Asia debut slated to be in Bhopal as AdventureNext comes to India

ATTA’s first stop in Asia will be in Madhya Pradesh, as the global adventure body would undertake AdventureNext in the coming December in Bhopal. To be held between 3-5 December, the event will include adventure trips for buyers and media across the country but, more importantly, bring special emphasis on Madhya Pradesh’s diverse offerings.

Adventure tourism in the country has received a shot in the arm, as in a first, AdventureNEXT, held by Adventure Travel Trade Association (ATTA) will be held in India. In the event to announce the launch of AdventureNext India event, Hari Ranjan Rao, MD, Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board noted that the partnership with ATTA was going to “enable major stakeholders in India and Madhya Pradesh tourism to connect with the best and most discerning connoisseurs of the progressive tourism industry.”

Speaking on the decision of choosing India as the next stop for the AdventureNext, Shannon Stowell, CEO of ATTA revealed that India had been on their radar for a long time as a strong contender to hold an AdventureNEXT event. “There are many dedicated Indian members of the ATTA and we’re so thrilled to put on this event to partner with and support them,” he said.

The Adventure Tourism Operators Association of India (ATOAI) will be the primary partner of ATTA in the undertaking and has assured its full-support.

Capt. Swadesh Kumar, ATOAI’s president suggested that after having witnessed ATTA events, the world over, he believed that there was “a huge potential to showcase Indian adventure products to the ATTA’s members”. “Delegates at the event will have a plethora of opportunities to experience what the Indian adventure industry has to offer,” he said. He added that the association was looking forward to the event as “a fantastic networking and business opportunity not just for the delegates but also for the media, bloggers, and explorers and adventurers who will be participating in the event.”
